The Horse Band features six of Cornwall's finest musicians and earned it's reputation as one of the regions best entertaining Classic Rock and Funk bands appearing at private, corporate and anything goes functions. Indeed many dates emanate via their website http://www.thehorseband.co.uk.
The Horse Band is comprised of exceptional vocalists Mike "wicked singer" and Samantha, and two quality guitarists in Kev "Taxman" and Kev "No smile". John Mitchell is one of the U.K.'s finest drummers, a percussion tutor and examiner for the London College of Music. Ex-session player 'Stormin' Norm completes the line-up on hooligan bass and vocals. John toured extensively with West End theatre shows and was Bjork's musical director. Norm sessioned with some legendary artists through his connections with major labels including Apple, Epic and Motown. Collectively, this quality 6 piece are strong performers high on energy - and scouse humour!
The Horse Band has performed at prestigious venues including The Eden Project which was filmed for their DVD, Falmouth Stithians Show Gound, Wadebridge Royal Cornwall Show and Organizers 'after-party', St. Austell Brewery's Celtic Beer Festival, St. Mellion International Golf Club and many corporate and private functions in the South West. In June 2009 the band performed at the wedding of a Hollywood film producer with 'A' list celebs in the audience which could have been scary. The Horse Band recently guested on Vic Morgan's Late Show on BBC Radio South West, performing unplugged acoustic material. They will be performing at The Salcombe Festival in June, The Calstock Biker Fest and Stithians Fest in August, the St.Ives Festival in September and the North Devon Festival.
The Horse Band's repertoire features some great UK / US classic rock and funk tracks which stand the test of time and much of the Band's strength is it's ability to arrange and perform the tracks in their own style. A blend of punchy rock, high octane percussion and multi-part 'energy' vocals.
